To the family of Rebecca, I know it's been awhile, but I've always wanted to let you know that I've heard Rebecca was such a really nice person. My brother was also a first officer at the time and knew her. He mourned the loss of a good friend and coworker. My heart goes out to you all. Peace be to you as you think back on the good times you were able to spend with her.

I met Beki at girl scout camp when we were in Jr.High and immediately we had one of those bonds that made us inseparable. Although she was one of the silliest and goofiest people I have ever met, she was always passionate and serious about flying. I am sorry that I never got the chance to fly with her. To Troy and Lynne and the rest of the family, I know that it is coming up on the anniversary of her death and it will be a hard day for all, we just have to remember how much Beki loves us and that she is always watching over us. I love you Beks and I can't wait to see you again so we can go flying.

Becca though I only knew you a short time through college you left a mark on me and my future. Starting a flying program and being one of only a few women you showed to me that this could be done. You showed me not to follow the normal routine after graduation and getting out of your comfort zone for the sake of your future was rewarding. I am amazed at all that you accomplished in your life and what an amazing affect you had on all who met you. We will all miss you.
God bless you and your family.

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.
If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.
If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.

To the Morris and Shaw Family,
What a beautiful and touching memorial service for Beki. She was a wonderful young lady, and she left your family way to soon. I only met Beki a couple of times at her Aunt Pam's house, but I will always remember her beautiful smile and her outgoing personality. She is now a shining star looking down on all of you. Your families are in our thoughts and prayers.

To First Officer Shaw's friends and family,
My heart goes out to you, and in this tiny world of aviation you were admired and adored. As a fellow 'Big Bender', it is a tragedy beyond words that you and your crew are no longer with us to sit and talk and joke about the silliness of our passion for avaition.
Thoughts, prayers and love go out to you.

To Mrs. Shaw's family, friends, and of course husband,
I couldn't help relate to her, especially when I saw that Rebecca has the first and middle name of my sister. From all accounts that I've heard, the world lost one fine lady, and a great pilot. You're in my thoughts. I wish you strength and peace.

Our beautiful 26-year old nephew was piloting a plane that went down in July, 2007. We know the shock and grief that the family is feeling now. Just know that Rebecca died doing what she loved and she would not have been happy any other way. May God comfort you and give you strength.

To Rebecca and the many souls who lost your lives under such tragic circumstances, my heart is heavy, and I know that you will be deeply missed. Though I didn't personally know you, I have been touched by the many words written about you, by those who did. During the course of reading and hearing about your life stories, I began to strongly feel that I could not remain silent. I needed to say a few words. First, I feel that you came into this world with a sense of purpose and commitment to the higher good of humanity. This became evident to me as I learned about you. And secondly, you have inspired others in many ways, as you have touched the lives of many; and you will continue to do so , as more of us come to know about you. As is the case when decent people are suddenly called as angels, you will be missed, as this world will no longer be the same without your physical presence in it. To loved ones who are acutely grieving the passing of these beautiful souls, I can only hope that you may find some comfort in knowing, within the depth of your hearts, that you are a profound part of the legacy of love that they have left behind in this world. In closing, I can only strive to emulate the love and kindness that Rebecca, and the other angels of Flight 3407 brought to this world, while they were with us. For these gifts, I pay tribute and offer my heart-felt thanks.

I will keep Rebecca's family, co-workers, and friends in my prayers. May God's peace and comfort flow over them.
There is a time for everything,
And a season for every activity under heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
A time to embrace and a time to refrain,
A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
