Dr. Robert Merrill

DR. ROBERT MERRILL Dr. Robert Cummings Merrill, 90, of Victorville, Calif., passed away Feb. 24, 2012. His wife, Virginia, preceded him in death. Dr. Merrill was born Aug. 4, 1921 in Minneapolis. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later graduated from Yale University with a medical degree. Dr. Merrill practiced medicine in the U.S. Air Force and in private practice. He most recently practiced at the Industrial Medical Group in North Las Vegas before retiring in Victorville in 2001. Dr. Merrill enjoyed reading, gardening, and his dog and cats. He is survived by stepson, Rick Reinacker (son of Virginia); son, Chris Merrill; daughter, Becky Collins (children of first wife Edith); brothers, Foster and Sherlock Merrill; and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, with memorial service following, both at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Road, Victorville.
