Jane VENARD Obituary

News Death Notice

VENARD, Jane C. Passed from this life on Thursday, July 23, 2015 under the care of Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to Benjamin and Dorothy Cade. Jane attended the Dayton and Oakwood schools, graduating from Steele High School in 1941. After graduation, she pursued her nursing career at Middletown Hospital. Upon completion of her studies, she traveled to Chicago. There she nursed for Hines Veterans Hospital until the end of WW II. Returning to Dayton, she continued her career at Miami Valley and Grandview Hospitals and in area doctors' offices until 1981. In 1946 she renewed her relationship with her high school sweetheart, Robert W. Venard. They were married or fifty years before his passing in 1996 and were proud parents of Dorothy (William Hunt), Douglas (Doris) Venard and Robert (Jo) Venard. The pride of her life were six grandchildren and six great-granddaughters. She was known to them as the sucker and candy kiss grandma. Jane loved people, parties, music, singing, writing poems, dancing, gambling, martinis, and all four legged creatures. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her lips, which made her fun to always be around. Jane was a member of the Dayton Women's Club, Burrough's Nature Study Club, where she served as past president, Charles Lathrem Senior Citizen Center, the Dayton Gym Women's Auxiliary, the Dayton Opera Guild and TWIGS. She is survived by cousins, James and Susan Roether and their family, sister-in-law, Betty Venard and her family and her many friends. Arrangements will be made by Newcomer Funeral Home of Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service at 11:00 am at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Dayton in her name. Jane and her family wish to thank the Hospice staff for providing excellent care and comfort to us all. Jane Always wanted everyone to feel love and to be appreciated for their uniqueness. She would ask that you smile and tell someone they are loved in her honor.
