Anne E. Gilson

Anne E. Gilson, born November 18, 1952, of Limestone Acres, died peacefully on February 15, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with her parents, Eleanora and William Gilson.

After graduating from Dickinson High School in Wilmington, DE, she attended Goldey-Beacom College. She worked for the Wilmington Trust Company for 38 years and worked in several departments during her career.

Anne enjoyed spending time at the family home in Dewey Beach with her family and friends. She cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews, whether it was a major event or day-to-day activities. She was a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Borowsky, Karen and the entire staff at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center for their help and support during her courageous battle. The support of Anne's neighbors and friends at Wilmington Trust was very much appreciated.

Anne is survived by her brother, Bill and his wife, Maria, of Wilmington and her sister, Marge Delaney and her husband, Al of Hockessin. Also her nieces and nephews: Kimberly Shafer and her husband Jordan of Chesapeake, Virginia, Megan Gilson, Kyle and Keith Delaney.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 20 at MEALEY'S FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington from 4 to 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on February 21 at 10:30 am and followed by burial in St. Joseph's on the Brandywine Cemetery, Greenville, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
