I met Brian through my brother, Matt, and from that first meeting it was immediately apparent that he was an American original.
He was both generous and kind. Yet he spoke his mind and was unfailingly loyal.
I learned the hard way when I kiddingly suggested that he switch alliances from his struggling Eagles to the Cowboys. He delivered a tongue lashing that still makes me smile.
I can only imagine how fiercely he guarded his family.
My condolences

Patti - I am sorry to hear of Brian's passing. My father John Michael & Brian were like brothers. I can remember them together all the time when I was young and have fond memories of the stories they would tell me of their escapades together.

Aunt Pat, Margie, Debbie, and Brian,
The Doughertys of Athens, GA (we are few) are thinking of you.
Uncle Brian was a tour de force that made me laugh and reflect on the value of life. I remember him firmly mounted in the center of each room, showing us how to enjoy simple things like conversation, family, and respect. I think I grew a little stronger by knowing him, even if it was only for a short while. He has a place in my memory and he will be missed.
Our thoughts are with you,
Keith, Anjali, Dylan (9 yrs), and Connor (7 yrs) Dougherty
