Alexander J. "Alex" Gallen, 91 Of Drexel Hill, PA Alexander J. "Alex" Gallen, 91, passed away on March 5, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alexander and Margaret Gallen (nee Whalen). He was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School and a 1955 graduate of Drexel University. Mr. Gallen was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. He was employed as an Engineer for General Electric for 49 years. Alex was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Church for 35 years. He loved Penn State and Eagles football and the Phillies. He played semi-pro football on the Blue Bell team in S.W. Philadelphia. Survivors: His wife Grace (nee Burke) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; his son Thomas F. Gallen (Jane); his sister Mary Johnson; cousins, nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his son Alexander J. Gallen Jr. and his brother Francis Gallen. Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Thursday, March 8, 2012 9:30 to 10:20 AM St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Ave., Drexel Hill. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM.
