John Seifried Obituary

John F. "Jack" Seifried John F. "Jack" Seifried, passed peacefully on November 4, 2012. Born in West Chester to Frank and Estelle Seifried on January 22, 1928, he was raised in Ardmore. In 1945, Jack left high school to enlist in the United States Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 17, 1946. Jack then returned to high school and graduated from Radnor High School in 1947. Jack began working for Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) shortly after graduation. Jack worked for PECO for over 40 years before he retired in 1988. Jack married Margaret "Peg" Clark on September 8, 1951 at Our Mother of Good Counsel in Bryn Mawr. Jack and Peg moved to Newtown Square in 1956 and resided in the same home for over 55 years. Jack was active as a coach, scorekeeper, and mentor for numerous local youth sports, such as Newtown-Edgmont Little League and Marple Newtown Basketball. Jack was inducted in the Newtown-Edgmont Little League Hall of Fame for his many years of coaching and his dedication to helping youth through sports. Jack was a friend and supporter for many people throughout his life. It was common to see Jack watching a local youth sports game with his AM headset on listening to the Phillies game. Jack's sense of humor, wit, and intelligence were what distinguished him from others. He was the type of person who would do anything to help others, as he often knew the best way to complete a task. Survivors: Jack is survived by his wife Peg. They recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his 4 children Robert, Marianne Haley and her husband Mark of Henderson, NV, Beth Danpome and her husband Wakfwen of West Chester and John and his wife Karen of West Chester; Jack and Peg have 7 grandchildren Meaghan, Shawn and Kevin of Henderson, NV, Jack, Kelly, Kevin and Matthew of West Chester. Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008. Funeral Mass 11 AM St. Anastasia Church. Interment St. Denis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 901 East Luzerne St., Philadelphia, PA 19124 would be appreciated.

John P...Sorry to hear about your father. I lost my dad last week (10/29), so I can relate to how you are feeling. My thoughts are with you and your family. Please let me know if you need anything. It's a tough time to say the least.
