Lawrence Albert Ratcliffe died at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday, June 24, 2023 from complications of Parkinson's Disease diagnosed fifteen years ago. He was born April 15, 1941 to Dr. Albert Wayne Ratcliffe and his wife, Rebecca Ann Allen, in Evansville, Indiana.
A forty-year resident of Delaware, Ohio, he was active in many civic activities and moved to Las Vegas nine years ago to be closer to family as his disease progressed. He is survived by his wife of nearly sixty years, Susan; three children; six grandchildren; one brother and extended family and friends. He was proud of his Quaker heritage, a descendant of the original English family progenitor who settled on the eastern banks of Maryland in 1682.
At his request, there will be no funeral or memorial ceremony. His burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware, Ohio, and tributes may be made to DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana or to Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas, Nevada.
