Terrell Hughes Obituary

Terrell "Terry" Allen Hughes, 71, of Ostrander passed away early Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born October 31, 1952, in Ravenna, Ohio to James and Eleanor (Gillham) Hughes.

Forty-six years ago, he met his wife and partner in life, Karla Lee Poplin at a Kiss concert at Veterans Coliseum in Columbus. Together they traveled extensively, attending concerts, and enjoying rock-n-roll cruises. They were also Blue Jackets season ticket holders and supporters.

Sadly, Karla passed away on December 26, 2021. Terry was also an avid OSU Buckeye fan and enjoyed spending time with friends at Restoration Brew Worx in downtown Delaware.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Renee Hughes of Delaware; father, James Hughes of Lima; brother, Michael (Nancy) Hughes of Florence, Kentucky; as well as a host of friends.

In addition to his wife, Terry was also preceded in death by his mother and Renee's fiancé, Richard Waite.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware.

I'm at a loss for words, then again, I could write a book. My deepest condolences to Renee and family. Terry was a very dear friend of mine and the Cadillac of a neighbor. We had a unique friendship and I miss him and always will. I Await the arrival of the Orioles.
