Lloyd Price Obituary

Lloyd Lee Price, Sr.

Salisbury—Lloyd Lee Price, Sr., 70, went to be with his Lord on September 6, 2012 at PRMC in Salisbury. Affectionately known as "Price"; he was born on November 26, 1941 in Salisbury, Maryland to the Late Marion Price and Lottie Cuff Price.

Lloyd was educated in the public schools of Wicomico County, Maryland graduating in 1960 from the former Salisbury High School. The Price Family became one of the most tenured memberships in St. James A. M. E. Zion Church, spanning five generations.

Lloyd became a bus contractor for Wicomico County, a profession that would span more than forty-four years. Prior to this contract, Lloyd was employed by Arundel Products, English Grill Commissary and the Campbell Soup Company.

Lloyd loved gardening and growing beautiful flowers, especially his colorful rose gardens. He would often put a variation of color in vases and present them to his lovely wife for her enjoyment on any occasion.

Loving memories remain with his High School sweetheart and wife of Fifty-one years, Gloria; two sons, Lloyd Price, Jr. (Colette) and Scott Price, Salisbury, Maryland; three daughters, Delphine Morris, Denise Sampson and Lisa Wright, all of Salisbury, Maryland; one sister, Roxie Duffield, Laurel, Delaware; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, In-Laws and friends. He will also be caringly remembered by special devoted friends; Mr. and Mrs. Marion (Bud) Barkley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goslee, Mr. and Mrs. Gus White, and Mr. and Mrs. William Handy, all of Salisbury, Maryland, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Collins of Hebron, Maryland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard, Samuel, William, James, Daisey, Mildred, Georgianna, Marion Jr., Leroy, Charles and Joyce. Sweet good-byes were also left with his departed grandson, Gregory Wright, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church on Mack Ave in Salisbury at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the church and one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
