Odell E. Burton, Sr.

Salisbury-Odell Eustis Burton, Sr., 61, of Salisbury, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury. Born September 29, 1952 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Thomas Tutt and Yetta Burton.

Mr. Burton was a 1970 graduate of City College High School in Baltimore and served in the US Army during Vietnam War. After his discharge, he attended and graduated from University Of Maryland Baltimore County. For many years he worked as a chef in the Baltimore and Eastern Shore areas and also worked as an instructor for chefs for the Sheraton and Holiday Inn. He later worked in the home improvement industry.

He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury and Knights Of Columbus Council 3489.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Ziara; a son Brandon S. Ziara, a son Brent M. Burton-Ziara, a son, Brady T. Burton-Ziara and daughter, Brydque M. Burton-Ziara, all of Salisbury; a son, Odell E. Burton, Jr., a son, Derell Burton, and a daughter, Donshella Small, all of Baltimore; four sisters, Claudette Woolfolk, Diana Washington, Waleta Garrett, and Virginia Tutt; two brothers, Frizel Burton and Benjamin Tutt; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brittnay Burton-Ziara and a sister, Victoria Everheart.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. Interment will be held at a later date.
