Harold O'Connell Obituary
Rochester: Thousand Island Park, NY/Winter Haven, FL: Suddenly on August 20, 2013 at age 85. Born October 14, 1927, Harold is predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen, and his sister, Jacqueline Peck. He is survived by his four children, Michael (Anita) of Greece, NY, Kathleen (Richard) Fox of Greensboro, NC, Daniel (Linda) of Victor, NY, and Victoria (Edward) Thornton of Green Valley, AZ; 6 grandchildren, Dyan (Eric), Daniel, Brian, Carina, Kelly and Jason; 2 sisters, Flora Nelson, and Dolly (Ron) Spade; brother-in-law Joseph (Carol) Brennan, sisters-in-law Jean Gensler, Patricia (Lewis) Bianchi and Donna (Eldon) Harris; many nieces, nephews, dear friends and the staff at Elderwood Assisted Living at Penfield.
Harold was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a long-time member of the UA Local 13, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Harold celebrated 65 years of marriage with Helen and together they lived in Rochester and spent their summers in Thousand Island Park on the St. Lawrence River. Later they spent winters in Winter Haven, Florida. Harold loved boating and fishing at the cottage on "The River" and always had a joke to share - Zigidy Zigidy Zam.
