Nancy Lee Swan Kelly

Nancy Kelly Obituary

Nancy Lee Swan Kelly, 54, of South Carolina passed on into God’s loving embrace Sunday (Oct. 26, 2008) at Heartland Hospice House. The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Kersey officiating. Entombment was in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Kelly was the wife of Robert Kennedy Kelly. Both resided in Lexington, S.C. This is a story that needs to be told; a person who was always kind, loving, patient and never complained about adversity. She seemed to know she was predestined to her fate and was determined to go with her dreams. Upon graduation from college, she worked in human resources for Club Corp. of Knoxville, Tenn., and Coca Cola in Greenville, S.C. Her love for horses placed her in the top five at the International Arabian Horse Show. Her next challenge was facing a cancerous brain tumor. Her treatment was successful only to be followed by her being struck by a reckless, speeding driver. She suffered through many more head traumas and brain tumors throughout the years but was too physically weak to fight back. She and Bobby faced each new challenge knowing that God has a purpose unknown to us. Between each challenge, they enjoyed trips overseas, cruises and vacations. Nancy had a way of touching others with her faith. The family wishes to thank all who prayed and cared for her through the years. To the families that have and will face the same heartache, the family wishes God’s richest blessings. Loving family members include her parents, Frank and Ruth Swan of North Augusta; her sister Sue Ann Abdulla (Dr. Abdulla) of Augusta; her mother-in-law, Nell G. Kelly; great-aunt Naomi Howatter; brother-in-law Jeff Kelly (Farrell); sister-in-law Martha K. Smith (Doug); nieces and nephews Aaliya A. Landholt (Cary), Mikaal M. Abdulla (Rangana), Siara Swan Abdulla, Zain Abedin Abdulla, Abbie Kelly, Hannah Kelly, Caroline Kelly, Katie Smith and Drew Smith; great nieces and nephews Aamir Abdulla, Imaan Abdulla and Sasha Landholt.Memorials may be made to the Heartland Hospice, 1365 Interstate Parkway, Augusta, Ga. 30909.Visit the online registry at www.rowlandfuneralhome.com.Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jan and I wish to express to you and the family our deepest sympathy. It would be easy to repeat the age old cliche' of going to a better place, etc. but from the conversations you and I have had over the years, I am confident that you already know these things and that they are true. I call on the promises of God that you will receive the Peace that only He can give and that surpasses all man's understanding. Nancy is a treasure and our lives are better for her strength and for your faithfulness. You will never know how much you have given those around you. Thanks

Dear Swan-Kelly family,

Our thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time.

We pray for you and the family in this time of sorrow. We know it's not easy losing someone you love and need. But there will be a brighter tomorrow.

God has a plan for you, and he will give you strength and courage to lead you on your way.

He will guide you and protect you when you are out of sorts, and he will shine his light upon you when you are at your lowest point.

You feel that life is not fair to lose the one you love, but God will never steer you wrong, It's all a part of his plan, to guide the one you love to his promised land.

May the Lord watch over you and your family in this time of need.....God Bless you!
