Willetta Nowaski Obituary

Nowaski, Willetta

(Masline) "Billie"

Rochester: On January 5, 2015 at age 92 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Norbert J. Nowaski, Billie is survived by her devoted daughter and best friend, Catherine; her loving nephews, Gary (Sharon) Masline of Albany, NY, Arthur (Colleen) DiCesare, Jr., William DiCesare, David (Anne) DiCesare; caring niece, Robin Abel of Prescott, AZ; cherished great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and neighbors.

Billie was the last surviving child of the late Catherine and William Masline, predeceased by her siblings Allen Masline, June Masline, and Rose Marie DiCesare. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1939. In 1950, Billie and husband Norb joined Locust Hill Country Club, known as the "friendly club," where they remained members for life. To her delight, Billie was made an honorary member in 2011.

In addition to tending to her own family and volunteering at several local Catholic schools, Billie cared for her blind father and later elder sister for many years. She loved people and people loved her. Her winning smile, wicked sense of humor, and way with words made us laugh at her stories even if we had heard them before. Billie literally wore rose-colored glasses, and her sunny outlook on life made her an inspiration to all.

Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd. South) on FRIDAY (1/9/15) from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Billie's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Church (330 Gregory Street) on SATURDAY (1/10/15) at 10:00 AM. Interment private.

Billie's family would like to express their appreciation to Sydney LePage and Jill Wellman from Visiting Nurse Hospice, for their loving care and friendship. Contributions in Billie's memory may be made to St. Boniface Church (330 Gregory St, Roch. NY 14620) or to Visiting Nurse Hospice (2180 Empire Rd. Webster, NY 14580). Dear Catherine. I am so very sorry to read about your mother's passing. What a true lady she was. I am a better person because I knew her. My father is up in heaven golfing with her right now and sharing a laugh with her. I bet they are the two best dressed angels in heaven. You are in my prayers. Love Debbie Wehrle

Billie was a wonderful women that lifted your spirits whenever you had the honor to be with her. She became a friend to my brother and I while visiting her sister at St. John's and we always looked forward to seeing her. She was one beautiful person both inside and out. God Bless you Billie. You will never be forgotten.

She was a ladies lady. Surrogate Grandmother to our son. Adopting him as her own. Never missing a holiday card with a small token inside. Just watching him open both envelopes, his grandmothers and Billies. The twinkle in his eye. Thank you Mrs. Nowaski for bringing a little bit of your joy into our world.
I would kid her about not all of us had the luxury of looking at the world through rose color glasses, she did. May God Bless and St. Peter get out of the way Billie Nowaski is on her way and if history proves itself. She will not be Denied. We love you.
