John was a close friend and loyal brother in our Fraternity. He was always there in person to offer his support and strength for any endeavor. We will miss him greatly along with his humor, humility and his integrity. Rest in peace Johnnie as you enter the Chapter Eternal. and Fraternally-Clarke & Linda Houston

Bunnye and friends of John,
I am so sad to hear of the passing of John.
To all of you I send my deepest sympathy. John was a big, sweet teddy bear of a guy who loved hanging out at the Mart with his buddies, especially during the Gift Show, when his showroom was the "gathering" place.
I remember sitting in the bar at the Mart towards Christmas time and we all sang The 12 Days of Christmas and John took the line of "5 Golden Rings" and he would boom it out! We laughed and laughed. I remember Chuck and Angie being there, Vic and others..
Bunnye, we were at a party at your house at holiday time and my friend Alice was playing your piano and we were all singing, what a great time we had!
My husband was Vic Martinez and knew John for many years at the Mart. (Vic started in 1970)
I worked in the office and would go down to see him in his showroom but saw him more during Gift Show time. John had a huge heart for others, that´s what I will remember.
Bless all of you,
Karla Martinez

John was a true friend for 40 years. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of anything. He helped us move from one residence to another 39 years ago. I worked for John shortly after we moved to Denver. He was kind beyond belief. My husband and I then opened another show room in the mart selling packaging. John was so happy we were there with him.. Denny took many trips with John to Montana, Utah, Wyoming etc. They had so many wonderful memories they shared. My parents frequently came back for Johns birthday from Iowa. They also admired him, his personality and generosity to all. We have been in AZ. for twenty years but have stayed in contact. He was and will always be a cherished friend. He will be a welcome in his new home in heaven. errie
