Carolyn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Norman and Norma Riches. She was married to Lynn T. Reese June 5th, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a graduate of South High School in Salt Lake City. She worked for Utah State Government as an IT Pioneer Professional and retired after many years of dedicated service. Carolyn and Lynn enjoyed 26 years of memories at their cabin at Emerald Beach, Bear Lake, Idaho. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was heavily involved in The Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Carolyn was a radiant soul whose mere presence filled every corner of the room with immense love. She was an example of kindness and patience. She was intelligent, witty, glamorous, classy, and hard-working with an endless reservoir of love. She was an example of how to live, love, and how to leave a dramatic impact on those around her.

Carolyn is survived by her brother Ray (Jane) Riches, Sister-in-law Joyce Riches; children Thomas (Debbie) Reese, Jon (Debbie) Reese, and Janet (Randy) Swensen, Susan Woodard, 19 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Lynn, parents Norman and Norma, brother William Riches, grandsons David Lawrence, Jake Rowe, Dee Woodard and Jed Woodard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00am at the LDS church at 1410 Shields Lane, South Jordan, Utah; with a viewing beginning at 9:30am to 11am at the same location. Interment will be held following the services at the Murray City Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Imad Farrukh for his excellent and compassionate care.
