Conrad Douglas Obituary

Conrad Edward M. Douglas -MACON - Conrad Edward M. Douglas, intellectual, humanist, musician, and artist, peacefully passed away April 9, 2009 in Macon, Georgia. Beloved husband of Nance, son of las, James and Kathleen Douglas (both deceased), much loved brother of Mary (MacCon), Tony, Paul, and David, cherished brother-in-law to Liz, Marie, Carol Ann, and Kerry, loved Uncle to Ian, Karen, Laura, Ronan, Doug, Sean, Amanda, Sophie and Zachary, loved cousin to many through the Douglas and Fogarty families, and humorous, friend and wit to many, far and wide. -Conrad was loved by his wife's family: Virginia Page (Matt-deceased), Jenny, Franklin, Tracy, Tammy and family, John, Wayne, David Page and families, and friends around the world. -Conrad graduated with a Bachelor of Music from University College Dublin, Masters of Music, had completed coursework and was working on a dissertation for a Ph.D. at University of Illinois. He taught at Mungret College in Limerick, Ireland. He taught Music Literature, Music History, various instruments at Georgia College. He was the conductor of the community/college orchestra until he retired. He was a participant after retirement. -Heartland Hospice became Con's last residence. If you would like to do something to honor Conrad, please make a donation to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, Georgia 31210. -A Celebration of Conrad's life will be held in Milledgeville in the summer. Details for this will be announced in the newspaper at a later date.
