Genaro Sedro Dulfo Sr.

Genaro Sedro Dulfo Sr. 1932 ~ 2008 Genaro Sedro Dulfo Sr., 76, our loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at his home in North Salt Lake, UT April 30, 2008. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a High Priest. He converted to the LDS faith in 1973 at Marikina City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Gene was born in Samar, Philippines on July 10, 1932, the son to Apolinario Operario Dulfo and Felicidad Ramirez Sedro. He grew up and attended schools in Samar and spent some time in Manila, Philippines. He later immigrated to the United States to live the American Dream. He is the personification of the adage, "some of the greatest people come in small packages." Although small in stature, Gene has great imagination and a huge heart. He is an avid reader, writer, preacher and salesman. He married Prescila Aserit in Sampaloc, Manila on June 15, 1957 and for all time and eternity at the Manila Philippines Temple in 1985. As a couple, they served a full-time missionary service in Philippines Ilagan Mission from 1996-1997. Gene was known for his amazing skills on Philippine oratory and debate. He loved to sing and dance. Later in life, he became interested in violin and traveling the world. He's a hard worker and has supported his family until later in life. He is survived by his loving wife, Prescila Aserit Dulfo, his brothers and sister: Eustaquio, Eduardo, Wenceslao and Virginia (Cancisio); his seven children and 16 grandchildren: Genaro Jr. and Gina (Gynn Geneveive, Geo, Gianella Gyneth), Nelia (Jacob, Mark Joseph), Jena (Mark, Maylyn, Love, Ronnie) Carla (Lorri Lee, Nneka Shani), Allan and Mercy (Trixia, Sydell, Aaron), Edna and Sonny. His seven great-grandchildren: Millicent Claire, Vincent Kenneth, Matthew, Heart Venice, Marvin, Hannah Ailen Cienne, and Mhyco Cliff. Gene was preceded in death by his daugther, Elizabeth, his parents, Apolinario Operario Dulfo, Felicidad Ramirez Sedro; and his siblings, Rose Estrella Smirl, Francisco and Miguel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 10th, at 11 a.m. at Foxboro Chapel in North Salt Lake, 875 West Foxboro Dr. where a viewing will be held Friday evening 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
