- Leola Turner Stanley returned to her heavenly home on Monday July 3, 2023.

Leola was born to George Anderson Turner and Harriet Fern Hartle on January 20, 1934 in Hunter, Utah. She was the 7th out of 10 children. She grew up in Amboy, Washington and Murray, Utah. She graduated from Murray High School. She married E. Wayne Stanley on September 16, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with 7 sons. Mark, Ted, Eric, Craig, Carl, Michael and Kieth.

Leola loved music and it was always an important part of her life and she participated in many choirs wherever she lived. She was a member of the Tabernacle Choir for many years and was able to tour the world with them.

Leola had many callings in the church and fulfilled each with compassion and empathy. She was a relief society president for several years. She and Wayne served several missions in the Salt Lake Valley serving those in need. Leola worked in the Jordan River Temple and grew to love the work and the people.

Leola is survived by sons Eric (Rachelle), Craig (Sherrie), Carl (Lynne), Michael (Kristin), Kieth (Cindy), daughter-in-law Candy and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She recently became a great, great grandmother.

Leola is preceded in death by her husband E. Wayne, her sons Mark and Ted, her sister Dora Peck, her brothers Steve Turner, Norval Turner, Bill Turner and Marion Turner.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. The viewings and funeral service will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, located at 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah. Services will be held from 11:00 -12:00 p.m., followed by interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, which is located at 1950 E. 10600 S. in Sandy, Utah.
