I met Mike or Elder Quist in New Zealand. Although not his companion, I had the opportunity to work with him on trade-offs. He was a hard worker, dedicated to being a good missionary, faithful and obedient. While our paths did not cross after our missions, I expect he lived his life as he served his mission. My best to his family.

I first met Mike, or Elder Quist in New Zealand. We served together in several zones. He had a very quirky, fun sense of humor, and was a very kind, and wonderful man. I ran into him several times over the years, and always enjoyed catching up with him. My best wishes to the family.

Michael was such a quiet, tender person. He worked "behind the scenes" to make sure people felt loved and included. My fondest memory is the day we met together with all of the Wagstaff clan for a family reunion/Christmas Party. We planned to take a family photograph. Over 100 Wagstaffs were gathered late one afternoon on the front, sloping yard of a cousin, Ann Varner's, house. We stood in our places for, what seemed like an eternity, as the PROFESSIONAL photographer fiddled with his camera and trying to get everyone looking at him, smiling, etc. (there were over 100 of us, I mean, just take the picture.) Mike, in the meantime, quietly walked over and took a few of his own photographs of the historic moment. Turns out, the sun dipped into the sunset and the photographer's pictures didn't turn out because it was dusk. I was the most disappointed because I had arranged for the photos. It was a moment that could not be re-created. It made me so sad. Low and behold, a few days later I got a call from Mike wherein he meekly told me he had a few shots of the moment, if I cared to use them for the family. That photograph now sits in many homes or memory books of Wagstaff family members. Mike is missing from the photo, but I think of him every time I look at it. It is because of his quiet, behind-the-scenes actions that I have that beautiful photograph today. I love you, Mike, and know that you are someone very special and that you accomplished your mission here on earth many years ago. Now, it is time for you to be at peace and in the loving arms of your parents and Father in Heaven. Families are forever and I look forward to seeing you again.
