Anthony DeCarlo Obituary
Des Moines - Anthony Carl DeCarlo, 88, passed away peacefully Friday, December 8, 2017 at Taylor House Hospice. A private family graveside service will be held at Glendale Cemetery.
Tony was born November 24, 1929 in Des Moines at the start of the great depression to Joe and Lucille DeCarlo. He started with little and ended with much. He was private, determined and funny. He would say he survived both the Korean War and two 30 year relationships, the first to his wife Betty DeCarlo, and the second to partner, Karen Collins.
He was instrumental for decades, with his brother Al in the rise of DeCarlo Demolition Company in Des Moines. He enjoyed playing poker for over 75 years, his toy poodle, and watching professional sports.
Survivors include his sons: Gary DeCarlo of Des Moines, Ricky (Carol) DeCarlo of Brea, CA; 7 grandchildren: Angela, Georgia, Mitchell, Kari, Latoya, Jordan, Ginger; 8 great grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, sister, 3 brothers, son, Tony DeCarlo, and one grandchild.
