CAROLYN P. FRAZIER
West Des Moines
Carolyn Frazier, 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at her daughter's home.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday at West Des Moines United Methodist Church (8th and Grand Avenue) with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Carolyn was born August 6, 1910 in Cromwell, Iowa to Evelyn and Elmer Kinkade. She was the oldest of eight children and grew up on her parent's farm in Cromwell. She was a graduate of AIB and worked at the Solar Airplane plant during war times. Carolyn also managed the Ardan Jewelry Store on Harding Road for a number of years and worked at Preferred Risk on Ashworth Road.
Carolyn was a member of West Des Moines United Methodist Church, West Des Moines Women's Club and the Greenfield, Iowa Lions Club.
Surviving is her daughter, Carol Frazier and son-in-law, Frank Cecil of Des Moines; grandchildren, Robin Vaughn, Wendy Ludwig and Misty Mathews; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Franklin (Vonnie) Kinkade and a sister, Ernestine Knott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert and daughter, Patricia Karl.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at McLaren's Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled Veterans (D.A.V.) or to her church.
