Richard Pertzborn Obituary
Ankeny - Richard Pertzborn, 93, of Ankeny, died from complications of Parkinson's disease on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church with visitation starting at 11:00 AM.
Richard is survived by four daughters, Pam, Sue, Mindy, and Cris. Five sons, Rick, Mike, Tim, Bob, and Tom. 25 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife MaryAnn, parents, and two sisters.

My condolences go to the family of Richard. He was a member of the 1947 Independence, Kansas Yankees. As the historian for that league I go to know Richard pretty well during the summer of 1994 when I was working on a Medicaid contract for the State of Iowa. We met for lunch many times and he invited me to his home for supper one evening. I shall never forget all the hummingbird feeders at his home.
For many years afterward we communicated through the mail and the KOM league newsletter. I had missed hearing from him in recent years.

My heartfelt condolences Pertzborn family. I remember your dad being such a kind and gentle man. He always had a smile on his face. My parents always spoke so kindly of your father. It was my pleasure to have grown up in Carney to have such great neighbors as the Pertzborn family.
