Mrs. Vera C. Spencer, 86, passed away July 16, 2015.

Funeral services for Mrs. Spencer will be held at 11 am, WEDNESDAY, July 22, 2015 at Burns United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Glendale.

Mrs. Spencer is survived by her husband, Thomas Spencer, Sr.; her son, Thomas Spencer, Jr.; her brother, James Underwood and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Visitation at the funeral home will be held TODAY (Tuesday) from 1 to 7 pm with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 pm.

"Mom" as she was known to me, had a heart of gold, an infectuous laugh, and a smile like a ray of sunshine. I have so many fond memories of our time together that will last me a lifetime. I feel so blessed to have had her in my life for almost 40 years. Tommy Sr and Jr, I love you both and I am certain that Brenda was there to greet her as she made her way to her new home.

"Back in the Day", early1960's, My father and I would visit the Spencer's during their basement remodeling project. Mr. and Ms, Spencer were such an energetic and kind couple! Vera was a beautiful woman, inside and out. As a young boy, I recall that Vera possessed a wonderful smile and gracious nature. Vera will be dearly missed by family and friends.
