CAPTAIN RALPH J. US HARTING III

Army 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, age 28, of Fort Irwin, California, gave his life for freedom in Iraq on Friday, April 29, along with his second in command who was a close friend from Farmington Hills. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and children Adeline, Ralph IV and baby, Warren Chiever born, Sunday May 1. Also surviving are Jay's parents Ralph and June Harting of West Bloomfield, his brothers Will (Katherine), Joe and sister Sarah Harting. Nieces Samantha and Olivia Jane and nephew Billy also survive, as well as grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harting, Sr., of Ohio. Friends of the Harting family grieve with them at this time of tremendous loss. Jay's home church was Orchard Lake Community Church, Presbyterian.
