Homer Hunt Obituary
HOMER J. Age 90 - March 27, 2017. Beloved husband to the late Eileen and dearest father of Kirk (Joanne) Hunt, Sheila Vogdes, Annemarie (Fred) Gibson, Allen (Janice) Hunt, Keith (Kathy) Hunt, John (Echo) Hunt, and Celeste (Werner) Schneider. Brother of Vera "Kate" (Larry) McBride and the late Howard Hunt and the late Ruth Bondy. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation Friday 3-9p.m., with an Evening Vigil Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road). Mr. Hunt will lie in state on Saturday 12 Noon until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12:30p.m. at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 E. 12 Mile Road in Warren. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Capuchin Ministries, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit MI 48207. Please share memories at

My first recall of your father Homer was how tall he was. He and your mother would come over to my grand-parents home in LaSalle. Your dad would lift us up so high that we would almost hit the ceiling, not that he would ever let that happen. He was such a "gentle giant".
Your mother and father's passing are an era that has ended for us. We see only your uncle Gerry Gignac now. He keeps us informed about you all.
Remember that you have family here and that your parents are being kept in our prayers.

Wow! What can be said about Homer? I have been a caregiver for many years and there was no one like him. He made me laugh. He encouraged me. He shared all his stories (I enjoyed hearing them). He taught me how to really garden. He loves his eggs. He often told me I make a mean omelet. My life will definitely be different for the better. I'll miss him.
