ROBERT THEISEN Obituary

THEISEN ROBERT A. Age 83 of Farmington. Loving husband for 60 years to Genevieve; dear father of Robert C. (Penny Harper), Nancy and Suzanne (David) Achtemeier; and loving brother of Gerard (Elaine), Lawrence (Lois), Delores Causley and the late Richard (d. 2003). Mr. Theisen is also the proud grandfather of Lindsay (Dionne) Drake, Robert F., Matthew Achtemeier and Lauren Achtemeier; and great-grandfather of Julian and Kobe Drake. He is preceded in death by his dear daughter-in-law, Cheryl, in 2000. Bob was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, attending St. Alphonsus School K thru 12. During his senior year, the St. Alphonsus football team captured the title of West Side Second Division Champs of the Catholic High School Football League. Lawrence Tech offered Bob a football scholarship and it is from there that he earned his Business Degree in 1950. Later that year, the U.S. Army came calling and Bob was drafted serving with the Army Engineers. His unit built air strips for bases in Texas and Georgia. After his honorable discharge, Bob went to work for Modern Homes and his love for the home building industry began. A short while later, Bob joined a newly founded company, Kaufman & Broad Homes, Inc., where he would spend the next 20 years. When the company moved to California, Bob founded Robert Theisen Homes, Inc., in Farmington, Michigan, enjoying his work until retirement. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Bay Pointe Golf Club. He also enjoyed bowling and skiing with his family and friends. Memorial Mass Saturday, July 23rd, 10:00 a.m. (gathering 9:30 a.m.) at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 23615 Power Rd, Farmington. Memorial tributes suggested to the Michigan Humane Society or Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, downtown Farmington (248-474-5200). heeney-sundquist.com
