Sandra was a very strong person who in the 38+ years we were together accomplished every goal she set for herself. On our first date in 1981 I watched her being interviewed by Ted Koeppel on Nightline regarding her work re: women's health issues. After our marriage she went on to earn her Bachelor's degree and then years later a certification as a Registered Nurse where she was highly regarded by colleagues and patients for her quality of care. Many times putting in upwards of 16 hr shifts. In addition to her professional career Sandra was an exceptional mother who wanted nothing less than the best for our two sons and did all she could to ensure they got it. She is greatly missed and will always be remembered with great love and thankful consideration for the love she showered on all who knew her!

It was a privilege to have known Sandra and worked with her for many years at Hutzel Women’s Hospital. She was so reliable, so smart, so responsible, so patient and so gentle with the patients. She anticipated the needs of the patients and their families. She remembered everyone’s name and since we have a number of patients who are “frequent fliers”, that is more difficult than one would think. She greeted them with a smile and a friendly word, making them feel important and cared for. She was a lovely woman and an excellent nurse. May her memory be a blessing to all of us who knew her.
