SUE NORMAN-GERRING Obituary

Age 61, loving wife, daughter and sister passed on October 8, 2008. Born October 22, 1946 the oldest child of Marion Norman and Betty Totten Norman of Ionia, Michigan. Sue Ann resided in Stevensville, Michigan and Ionia. Graduate and clarinet player for Ionia High School Class of 64. Graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. and B.S. and Masters degree in Education, Class of 68. Sue Ann was a third grade teacher with Saint Joseph school district. She married Edward Gerring who was her life long partner, together they cared for the loving dog Buddy and several cats. Some of Sue Ann's special accomplishments included, three time recipient of the National Who's Who Among American Teachers and 2006 Teacher of the Year. She retired from the Saint Joseph school district in June 2005 after a thirty-seven year career. Sue Ann was an avid garage saler/buyer, an antique dealer and a very loyal MSU fan and alumnist. Sue Ann was proceeded in death by her father Marion Norman, grandparents Ira and Bertha Lett, George and Goldie Norman. SueAnn leaves to cherish her memory husband Edward Gerring, mother Betty Norman, brothers Glen (Nancy) and Michael (Joan) Norman, Aunt Clara Smeldey, Aunt Mary Childs, Aunt Hattie. She will be dearly missed by family and friends including John and Cheryl Molinares. Special thanks to Drs., Ionia Hospice, Nurses. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Donations can be made to Sue Norman-Gerring Warrior of Women with Breast Cancer in care of her husband Edd.
