THOMAS A. LACHOWICZ

74 of The Villages, Florida, peacefully passed away March 26, 2007 at his home. Born February 15, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean War until March of 1955 when he received his Honorable Discharge. After the Army, Tom began his 33 year career at the Chrysler Corporation. He retired from Chrysler in 1988 as a Manufacturing Engineer. His greatest career accomplishment was the first Chrysler Mini-Van launch in the Summer of 1983. In December of 1992 Tom and Jackie moved to Florida. He became a member of the American Legion Post #347 and also served as president of The Villages Polish American Club. Tom was a devoted husband, father and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie, The Villages, FL; five loving children, Mark (Lori) of Beverly Hills, MI, Scot (Cheryl) Lachowicz of Wilmington, North Carolina, Paul (Pamela) Lachowicz of New Baltimore, MI, Karen (Richard) Mende of Nixa, Missouri and Julie (David) Slayton of Huntsville, Alabama; eight adoring grandchildren, Scott, Adam, Reggie, Kyle, Spencer, Elena, Edwin and Amelia; two sisters, Eileen Tanascu of Macomb Twp., MI, Sharon Stempowski of Sterling Heights, MI, brother Donald Lachowicz of Shelby Twp., MI. A Memorial Service will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, The Villages, FL. Christian Church Services will be held 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at St. Timothy's Catholic Community, The Villages, FL. Inurnment will take place at a later time at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions may be made to St. Rita's School for the Deaf, 1720 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
