Alan Waldrop Obituary

Alan Wayne Waldrop, 77, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. Service: was Thursday at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Keller Oaks Healthcare Center, Secure Unit, 8703 Davis Blvd., Keller, Texas 76248-0309. Born in Frederick, Okla., on Nov. 12, 1937, Alan graduated from Austin College, where he played basketball. Alan had a long, established career with GTE. He devoted his life to his family and coached his sons in a variety of sports. Alan will be remembered for his sense of humor, his ability to sing and whistle, and his strong commitment to his faith in Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maye Waldrop; and his sister, Dorothy Jo Jackson. Survivors: His sons and their wives, Russ and Anne Lynette Waldrop of Grapevine, Craig and Dorothy Waldrop of Fort Worth, and Grant and Kathy Waldrop of Trophy Club; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Joy, Preston, Corey, Lindsey, Ryan, Jackson and Brooke; and great-grandchild, Embry. He is also survived by his sister, Winnie Robinson; and three nephews of Little Rock, Ark.
