James "Jack" Bernard Rauh
March 16, 1928 - November 15, 2022
Crowley, Texas - James "Jack" Bernard Rauh, 94, passed away Nov. 15, 2022, in Crowley, Texas. He had been a resident of Burleson, Texas, for 45 years.
Graveside: 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth.
Jack was born March 16, 1928, in Hammond, Indiana. He was the only child of Albert Claude and Loretta Marie (Curtis) Rauh.
Following graduation from high school, Jack served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division, 10th Anti- Aircraft Group as a radio man. He received a Korean Service Medal and Five Bronze Service Star Medals for his service.
Jack married Phyllis May Ogborn June 21, 1952, in Crown Point, Indiana.
After being discharged from the Army, he worked several years at Standard Oil Company. Following that he went to work at Indiana Bell. Transferring to Texas in 1962, Jack continued at Southwestern Bell, and later AT&T, retiring after 30 years. He then started J&P Telephone Company.
Jack enjoyed tinkering with his cars, woodworking, watching Dallas Cowboy football games, tending to their animals, and working around his property.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis, and his parents.
He will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Cynthia Ann Thomas and husband, Dan of Fort Worth and Debra Sue Schwanz and husband, Michael of Colleyville; granddaughters, Christy Wolfe, Natalie Foote and Amanda Wente; and nine great-grandchildren.
