John "Mr. Vance" was the greatest teacher and he helped me in the fifth grade and made us all better people for just knowing how he cared about all of us. He became one of our family and we will miss him.
Thanks John for all the good memories.

John Vance and I were in the 301st Medical Sqadron, Air Force Reserve at Carswell AFB before his retirement in the 90's. His quick wit and good humor could make lemonaide out of lemons. John was a man with high expectations of himself and others. He was a man of Honor and Integrity who was willing to give all for his fellow soliders and his Country. John and men of this cablier will always be sorely missed.

Suprised and sorried by the news of John's passing. He was my friend and a friend of many. He was a funny guy and always a pleasure to be around. He was a member of our Boxing Club in the mid to late 50's. A real competitor. Johnny Bryant Weatherford, Texas
