Leslie Wayne Smart MITCHELL, GA. --Leslie Wayne Smart, formerly of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his home in Mitchell, Ga. SERVICE: Visitation: Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10 to 12 p.m. at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford. Graveside service: 1 p.m., Curtis Cemetery, Weatherford. Born December 1, 1941 in Fort Worth to Leslie Earl and Margaret Frances Probes Smart. At age 7, the family moved to Weatherford. He attended South Weatherford Elementary, Weatherford Junior High, and Weatherford High School and graduated in 1960. Wayne served three years in the U. S. Army with 33 months duty in Germany. In 1975, he moved to Lexington, Ky. where he had a long association with Bluegrass Treated Wood, Inc. At the time of his death, he was general manager of this company and had recently moved to Georgia. SURVIVORS: daughter, Leslie Michelle Smart of Perryville, Ky.; son, Rick Smart of Crowley; brothers, Virgil Glenn Smart of Weatherford, Robert Alexander Smart of Weatherford, and David Morris Smart of Longview; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and two aunts.
