Crowley, Texas - Linda Elaine Jones of Crowley, TX went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2023, at the age of 70, after her battle with pancreatic cancer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 5th, 2023, at Skyvue Funeral Home, Mansfield, TX.
Linda was born in Kerrville, TX on March 16, 1953, to Richard "Clay" and Ella "Irene" Wilson. Her childhood was mainly spent in Kerrville, TX and Shreveport, LA. On May 6, 1978, Linda married Thomas Ray Jones in Fort Worth, TX and they eventually settled in Crowley, TX where they raised a family together. Linda was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Crowley, TX and worked at Alcon Labs for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2017.
As a 21-year survivor of ovarian cancer, Linda was a member of Teal Magnolias, an Ovarian Cancer Support Group and was a speaker for Survivors Teaching Students - where she would interact with and educate future healthcare providers, speaking about her diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
Linda was an avid crafter and painter, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was lovingly known by many names - including Mom, Otis, Ommamay, Grandma and MawMaw
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard "Clay" Wilson; mother, Ella "Irene" Schepp; stepmother, Winniford Wilson; stepfather, James LeRoy Schepp; husband, Thomas Ray Jones; a grandchild and her long-time best friends Patti Holston Williford and Ada Blain.
Linda is survived by her Son, Matthew Jones; daughters, Angela Doss and Allison Jones; Son-in-Love Dan Doss; Daughter-in-Love Meahgann Jones; Grandchildren Daylin and Delaynie Doss, Jaide, Matthew II, Ella and Wyatt Jones.
