Funeral: A memorial mass will be noon Monday at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Dunkirk, N.Y.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lois to the American Cancer Society, 3301 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, 1-800-227-2345; VITAS Hospice, 2501 Parkview Drive, Suite 600, Fort Worth, Texas 76102; or the Ronald McDonald of Dallas, 5641 Medical Center Drive, Dallas, Texas 75235.
She enjoyed the numerous visits from her family and friends during her struggle with cancer. She started giving people smiles on January 22, 1951 in Dunkirk, N.Y., and continues to do so today. Lois's wishes are for all friends and family to celebrate her life and remember why we all share a common thread. "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." -Ralph Waldo Emerson. Lois was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Klaybor, her mother, Lorraine Klaybor, and her sister, Kathy McAfee.
Survivors: Loving husband, David "Whitey" Lawrence of Keller; children, Michelle McElwee (de Jonghe) of Euless, Jason de Jonghe of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Lindsay and Sean McElwee; brothers and sisters, Gary Klaybor of Florence, S.C., Mark Klaybor of New Orleans, Laurie Klaybor of Lake Whitney, Mike Klaybor of New Orleans, and Steve Kalybor of Seminole, Fla.; nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives in the DeJonghe, Klaybor and Lawrence families, as well as great friends.
