I have been out of touch and did not find out we had lost Margaret until this hour. I have so many memories from the years I worked with this gracious and proper lady. Some of my most satisfying moments at the paper came when she approved of a photo I took for her. "Yes, yes, I like it." I can hear her say, all the while nodding her affirmation and pursing her lips. It seems like I can hear "My old Kentucky Home" playing in my head. She was a joy to visit with and I trust she is hosting high tea with all our old friends again.

I remember Margaret from Texas Press Women. When I first attended a meeting, after joining the staff of the Greenville Herald-Banner, I was standing by myself not knowing anyone, and Margaret made a point of coming up and making me feel at home. She was so gracious and also had such a wonderful sense of humor, that I have never forgotten the occasion. She will be missed.

Margaret was a true southern belle, I had the privilege of working for her on the staff of The Arlington Woman magazine. I learned so much during that time, we all pitched in and did whatever there was that needed to be done. We had fun on the job.

Randy, I am sorry for your loss. I remember being a "stringer" for the Arlington Citizen-Journal while I was a UTA journalism student. Your mom gave me good writing advice and some good interview tips, too. She was a smart and funny lady.

My family moved to Arlington in 1955 and kept up with friends and events through Margaret's column. She made our town personal and friendly. I come from Mississippi, so we had a Southern bond-- she interviewed me once for a column on southern recipes. What a small town thing to do!! We had lost touch but I will treasure that special bond I felt for her. My deepest sympathy to all her family. Billie Liddell

As we pray for God's comfort for Margaret's family, we also give thanks for the life and work of Margaret Galloway. When we moved to Arlington in 1971 Margaret was among the many who made us feel right "at home". In our work with the Ministerial Association's commmunity activities, Margaret was a friend and helper and communicator for whatever was good for the people of Arlington. And knowing your mother, Randy, helps as I listen to you on the radio. Praise God for Margaret Galloway.

Dear Ellen and Randy,
Your mother was a HUGE influence in my life. She was always such an encouragement to me in my early years as a young wife trying to find my identity and form friendships. When Stevie Hansen and I, along with several others, started the Junior Woman's Club she was our greatest promoter. At my mother's death I found a scrapbook she made with countless articles by your mom about my involvments. Your mother never failed to be interested in our newest projects and assist us in ways that made our latest venture a great success. She will do no less in heaven!

I offer the Galloway family my condolences and pray that the "Peace of God that excels all thought" will be with you in your time of mourning.
