Russell Douglas Obituary

Russell Scott Douglas, 41, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Madill, the Rev. Bob Waltman officiating. Music arranged by Mark and Barry Williams. Interment to follow in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery.

Memorials: May be made to the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, Madill, Okla.

Pallbearers will be Darren Tidwell, Tommy Allison, Chad Bradley, Tony Bruan, Jay Combs, Brent Goodwin, Robby Winford and Kevin Eppler. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Hayes, Curt Clement, Joe Johnson, Richard Cahill, Dr. Greg Martens, Tony Hawkins and David Tynes.

He was born Sept. 3, 1961, in Fort Worth to Hubert H. and Patricia Margaret Engel Douglas. Russell was reared in North Richland Hills and moved to Madill, Okla., in 1991 from Keller. Russell married the former Kelli Clement of Feb. 4, 1003, in Gainesville. Russell worked for Winn-Dixie for 23 years and had worked for Nichols Dollar Saver in Madill the past year. He had been store manager in Durant, Okla., and Ardmore, Okla., and was currently the store manager in Madill.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madill, where he was active in the men's ministry. He was also a member of the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, and most importantly he loved his family, friends and community. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Douglas.

Survivors: Wife, Kelli Douglas of Madill; sons, Anthony Douglas of Austin and Scott Clement of Madill; daughter, Stefanie Hopkins and husband, Ben, og Madill; granddaughter, Kyleigh Hopkins of Madill; mother, Patricia Douglas of Fort Worth; brothers, Billy Dougas and Carl Douglas and wife, Christi, all of Fort Worth; sister, Deana Farmer and husband, Gary, of Trophy Club; mother-in-law, Bobbie Harris of Madill; sister-in-law, Kim Scott of Madill.
