Betty Minutilli Obituary

Minutilli Betty M. Minutilli, 93, of Upper Arlington, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin, mother Mildred G. Morse, father John J. Morse, stepmother Louise C. Morse, brother Bill C. and sister Mona E. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mike Britt; sons, James and Daniel, Hoboken, NJ; grandchildren, Ryan Britt and Michelle Riley (Zachary); sister, Jacquelyn J. D'Aguiar; sisters-in-law, Jean Minutilli and Francie Nolan; several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and beloved loyal dog, Buddy. Betty graduated from North High School and The Ohio State University summa cum laude with Bachelors and Masters Degrees, worked for Lifecare Alliance as a Registered Dietician, was a Red Cross volunteer during WWII, and as a secretary for New York Coal. Betty served as a troop leader and neighborhood director for the Girl Scouts and as day camp leader and director. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, helped start the first preschool, served on the building committee, belonged to the Hathmars group, and taught Sunday and Bible school, and was editor of the Trinity Times and also a member of the Eastern Star. She was known as a nice, caring, loving, and generous woman who gave back to the community via numerous roles for charitable causes. She was a devoted mother and neighbor who loved gardening, playing piano, numerous art and culinary crafts, and exercising/inspiring others at the McConnell Center. The family wants to thank her many loving caregivers who helped Betty in recent years and became part of our family including Tami, Peggy, Missy, and Lawrencia. Special thanks also to Gary Brand, Director of Older Adult Ministries at Trinity, and the caring nurses at Heartland of Dublin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to The Columbus Foundation, 234 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43205-1453, for either the Betty Morse Minutilli Scholarship (Health & Human Services) or the Betty and Benjamin Minutilli Designated Fund which covers many of her favorite charities. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road in Upper Arlington. Her Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, 43212. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery.
