Dear Elaine,
When Dave became the first Inspector General of Ohio I volunteered to do his work until he hired his staff. I was the Counsel for the Governor's Legal Assistant under Governor Celeste. Dave was a very nice man. May he rest in peace.

Dear Elaine and Family, We just learned about Dave's death and our love goes out to all of you. What a wonderful man who was filled with kindness for all people. He and Elaine were so wonderful to our Sarah,when they went to her games. We all loved him at Bexley United Methodist and remained dear friends over many years. I have many fond memories of our high school days together. Although I had not seen Dave in the last 10 years, he was always polite and generous. He was a very good athlete and had an excellent career. He will be remembered with grace and happiness.

I had the privilege of working with Major Sturtz when I served as Counsel for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He was the epitome of professionalism, grace and dedication. May God Bless his family. He will be truly missed.

My condolences to Major Sturtz family. The Major was my Academy Commander (98th class) What a role model he has been. I couldnt begin to count the lives he touched. I am so proud to have worked for him,he wont be forgotten.

I knew Dave from when we attended Coshocton High School. He was a gentleman then and he proceeded to be a gentleman his entire life. He was a very nice man who came from a good family. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Major Sturtz was not only an admirable OSHP officer, he was the epitome of what a good man should be. He was an inspiration to so many in every position he held. He was my true friend and I will miss him so very much. My sincere condolences to his family.
