Robert Holmes Obituary
1934 - 2018
Robert L. Holmes, 83, of Delaware, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Willow Brook Christian Home. Born July 30, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. Robert was a 1952 graduate of Linden McKinley High School and a 1961 graduate of The Ohio State University with his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. A Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. Robert worked as a Mechanical Engineer in hydraulics and had his license with the Ohio State Board of Professional Engineers and Surveyors. He loved to travel throughout the United States, England and Europe. Preceded in death by parents Earl and Janice Holmes. Survived by wife of 65 years, Charlotte, whom he married on September 24, 1952; children, Janice (Kent), Cheryl (DeWitt III), Stephen; grandchildren, DeWitt IV, Nathan, Kendall, Kara, Dalton, Sarah; great grandson, Gabe; cousin, Marleene; and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. A gathering will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St, (St Rt 161 W), Plain City, where a Memorial Service will begin at 4 PM Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Brook Christian Home, Staff Christmas, or Team Rubicon or Hunting with Hero's of Wyoming. Visit fergusonfuneralhomeinc.com to share a special memory.
