Roger Moore Obituary

MOORE Roger "Neil" Moore, 85, of Westerville, Oh., passed away at home on June 20, 2009 after a lengthy illness. He was born on November 6, 1923 in Union Grove (Greenwood) Ark., to Herschel and Dessa (Davis) Moore, the second of their six children. He was a 1942 graduate of Mansfield High School and served in the Air Force during World War II, achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. While in the service he married his sweetheart, Betty Jo Beach, in 1945. Upon honorable discharge, he attended University of Arkansas, transferring to Kansas University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering. After 40 years employment with Reynolds Metals, Roger and Betty retired in 1997 and moved to Westerville, Oh. to be nearer to family. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Wanda Watts and his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty. Roger is survived by his children, Teri Moore (Vasil Babamov) of Columbus, Oh., Deborah Moore (John O'Connor) of Westerville, Oh. and Nancy Ness (Jon) of Boise, Id.; his grandchildren, Michael Babamov, Matthew O'Connor (Kim), Stephen O'Connor (Kristen), Emily O'Connor, Christopher Ness and Daniel Ness; siblings, Rosemary Looney (Afton), Trueman Moore (Jane), Don Moore (Nita) and Arlene O'Neel (George); and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Dad's caregiver's over the last years of his life that took such good care of him and brought the smile to his face that lit up the room. We couldn't have made it without you. A memorial service will be held August 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Trueman Moore Chapel at East Side Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Ark.
