Shirley Ratliff Obituary

TUPELO – Shirley Jean Ratliff, 74, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born March 3, 1939, the daughter of Leonard and Winfred Smith McKissick. A lifelong resident of Tupelo, she took care of her family and helped raise many children. She loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, camping and working in her yard.
Services will be sy 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Wren Cemetery. Lee Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by two children, Rhonda Kelly (Jake) of Mooreville and Joseph Jay Ratliff of Pontotoc; three sisters, Betty Swyden (Thomus) of Oklahoma City, OK, Frances Blaylock (Paul) of Guntown and JoAnn Chavez of Newark, Calif.; a brother, Dale McKissick of Fulton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Gene Ratliff; and a son, Bobby Joe McMullen.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
