Resident of Fremont
Entered into rest on June 16, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 84. Devoted husband of 62 years to Marilyn Bernard of Fremont, CA. Loving father to Cindy B. Hawley of Portland, OR, and Mick Bernard of Phoenix, AZ. Grandfather of 3 and great-grandfather of 2. Also survived by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Born January 15, 1929 in Niles, CA, Alex was a white sweater graduate of Washington High School in 1947. He went on to serve as a Master Sergeant in the Korean War. In the early 50's he was a body builder. Alex was a die hard San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan but above all he loved time spent with his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Alex on Friday, June 21, 2pm at Swiss Park, 5911 Mowry Ave., Newark, CA 94560. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Alex to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
