Bing Wong Obituary

BING QUON WONG, in San Francisco, CA on June 23, 2001 at age 94. Born in Canton, China on March 10, 1907. Civil engineering graduate of U.C. Berkeley in 1937. Retired as bridge maintenance engineer in 1970, after 33 years with the CA Department of Transportation in Sacramento. Husband of Laura T. Wong of San Francisco. Father of Kayris (husband Gordon) Chew of Oakland, Cheryl Wong and Karen Wong Roberts of Sacramento and Dr. Bingson (wife Randy) Wong of Fair Oaks. Brother of Walter (wife Mardella) Wong of San Leandro. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceded in passing by first wife Mae Hue Wong, son Quonson Wong, and parents Wong Jung and Yee See Wong. Services were held in San Francisco and Colma, CA. Friends are invited to a memorial service on July 28, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berkeley Chinese Community Church, 2117 Acton Street, Berkeley, CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Berkeley Chinese Community Church, 2117 Acton Street, Berkeley, CA 94702 for their ministry or for their Berkeley Chinese Community Senior Center programs.
