Charles "Chuck" Bonham

1931 - 2023

Our dad, Charles "Chuck" Bonham passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023. Chuck was born on August 10, 1931 into a very large Sicilian family (Aiello's) of Pittsburg, CA who knew him as Sonny. As a boy he and other members of his Sicilian family were considered "enemy aliens" and were evacuated from Pittsburg to North Beach during WW II, where he attended St. Peter and Paul school and served as an altar boy. It was during that time that Chuck fell in love with San Francisco.He attended Pittsburg High School where he lettered in football. He then attended junior college and later served his country during the Korean War as a member of the Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lilly Fontana Bonham who passed away in 2019.He is survived by his four children, Stephanie (Susan), Chuck, Ted, and Beth (Jeff) Balocco. Four grandchildren, Kellen, Samantha, Tyler and Gino, three great-grandchildren, his niece Andrea and her family as well as extended family and friends.He worked for E.I. DuPont as an Accounting Supervisor and also had his own tax consulting business. Chuck was a rabid sports fan following the Forty-Niners, Giants and Warriors. He enjoyed playing and watching golf and also enjoyed playing pool with his friends at the Summerset 3 Clubhouse. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13th at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2200 E 18th Street in Antioch. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. with a service following at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the charity of your choice.
