Josephine Andrea (Arenivar) Torres, resident of Pittsburg, CA. was born April 26, 1946, born to eternal life December 21, 2018. She was 72 years old.
Josie is survived by the love of her life, husband Joe and daughters Andrea Holmen (Ben) and April Ortega (Steven). Her grandchildren Michael Vellos, Samantha Holmen, Julien Ortega and Marco Ortega. Siblings Carmen Vera, Joe Arenivar, Elvira DelFavero and Jess Manuel Arenivar. She was a beloved Aunt to many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Josephine Arenivar, and brothers Alfonso (Poncho) Arenivar and Ernesto Arenivar.
Josie graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1964 and worked for the City of Pittsburg for 31 years. She was an active member with Catholic Daughters, Soroptimist, and volunteered for St. Peter Martyr parish. She enjoyed ceramics as a hobby for many years. She had a passion for baking and it was interwoven into her social life and family celebrations; her cookies, pies, and cakes were enjoyed by all who knew her. Family was very important to Josie and she was always the catalyst for family get togethers as well as for her City of Pittsburg extended family of friends. She leaves behind countless cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00AM, Friday December 28, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Clayton.
In honor of Josie's life and her love of Christmas the family requests no black attire.
