Mary H. Wang, 91, of Lafayette, CA passed away on October 8, 2021 after suffering a stroke in late August.
Mary was born in 1930 to George and Maria-Rosario Hwang in Manila in the Philippines. She graduated from University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines.
On a trip visiting friends in the Bay Area, she met Tien Shan Wang. They married in 1960 and had four children, Roslyn, Christine, Anthony and Catherine.
She devoted her life to taking care of her family and raising four children, and seven grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed going to service every day. She was an active member of St. Perpetua's Catholic Church in Lafayette and St. Anne's Catholic Church in Walnut Creek and frequently volunteered to help those in need.
Her favorite time of the year was Christmas as she enjoyed bringing people together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and to make them feel warm, welcomed and well fed.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Tien Shan and son Anthony. She is survived by her three daughters: Roslyn, her husband Hunter Wu and their two children Casey (Jeff Christy) and Cameron (Jieru); Christine, her husband Roland Tso and their three sons Preston, Trenten and Andrew; and Catherine, her husband Tony Chen and their two children Amelia and Alexander. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren Connor and Aiden (sons of Cameron and Jieru), and Katherine (daughter of Casey and Jeff).
Mary was a wonderful mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her sweet soul, faith, kindness, and generosity. We will miss her greatly.
Funeral services will be held at St. Perpetua's Catholic Church in Lafayette, CA on Friday, October 22nd at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Perpetua's Catholic Church, 3454 Hamlin Road, Lafayette, CA 94549. 925-283-0272.
