Matthew Gordon Macdonald

Matthew Gordon Macdonald July 15, 1979 - February 12, 2004 Matthew Macdonald died February 12, 2004 in San Luis Obispo of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was 24. Matthew is survived by his mother, Andrea Williamson; his father, John Macdonald; brothers, David Williamson and John E. Macdonald; sister, Krystie Macdonald; girlfriend, Sophia Ibrahim; as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends. Born and raised in Contra Costa County, Matt attended San Ramon High School and Diablo Valley College. He recently realized a dream by transferring to Cal Poly-SLO to study mechanical engineering. Matt loved working on vehicles - motorcycles, trucks and especially his mom's car. He enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at his Dad's in Tahoe, camping at Kennedy Meadows with family and friends and four-wheeling. Matt always put his family first and was an incredible role model for his brother, David. He lit up a room with his smile, warmed us with his thoughtfulness and inspired us with his generous spirit. Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, February 17th, from 5-9 pm at Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel, (925-934-5400). Services will be held Wednesday, February 18th at 11:00 am at St. Matthew's Church on Wiget Lane in Walnut Creek (925-932-1955). Burial immediately following the service to be held at Memory Gardens in Concord. An account has been opened to assist his family and establish a scholarship in Matt's name.
