Joyce Herron Obituary
Joyce Thompson Herron, 77, passed away in her residence, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, March 14, 2021 after an extended illness.
Born in New Brighton on May 17, 1943, Joyce was the daughter of the late William and Jean Tinsmen Thompson. Her husband of 53 years, Clifford L. Herron, preceded her in death just two short weeks ago on March 1, 2021. Joyce was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She and Cliff enjoyed traveling together and camping all over the country. Joyce really enjoyed gardening, especially making sure all the weeds were picked. When Joyce retired as the office manager from Beaver Internal Medicine, her sole intention was to help raise her five granddaughters. It turned out to be her most fulfilling job ever.
Joyce is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stefanie Herron Pyle and Timothy Lee Pyle of Chippewa, her son, Brent Herron and his girlfriend, Jody Papageorge of West Mayfield, her five granddaughters, Sydney Margaret, Chloe Marie, Makayla Elizabeth, Emma Jean and Haylee Ann, her brother, Donald (Joann) Thompson of Spokane, WA, her sister-in-law, Rosemary Jagoditch of New Brighton, several nieces who loved her dearly and her dog, Bella.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, William and Jean Thompson.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, March 18th at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Concord Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Joyce's name to the North Sewickley Township Volunteer Fire Department, 887 Mercer Rd., Beaver Falls, PA 15010

Stephanie and family,
May God give you comfort and peace at this very difficult time. I remember your parents from Girl Scout meetings at your house and remember that your Mom went to prom with Joe Namath ( and is mentioned in his autobiography). Please turn to your "circle of influence"( including this weird ADHD girl you were in Scouts with who is praying for you all) and let them help in whatever ways they are gifted.
